Parathyroid glands

Parathyroid glands (glandulae parathyroideae) are located on the back of the lateral lobes of thyroid gland and are small oval-shaped cells. Their mass is only 0.05-0.09, the outside covered with gland capsule. Parenchyma of the glands form epithelial cells, which are separated by layers formed by connective tissue processes, traveling from the capsule.
